Bio |
(James) Allan Bauldry (1932- ) was a former employee of Toronto Township and Town of Mississauga. He started his career working as a draftsman in the Works Department on September 19th 1955 and worked out of the Toronto Township Municipal Offices which were located at 100 Dundas Street West. One of his first drawings was a plan of First Line West (Mavis Road) from Dundas Street West to Burnhamthrope Road. This lead to a further 32 drawings that would be used for the contract and construction of the Toronto Township Works Yard now known as Mavis Works located at 3185 Mavis Road. While working for Toronto Township Allan had the opportunity to work on a variety of things including moving buildings, bridge construction and road construction. Bauldry took the opportunity to capture the various stages of construction from these projects. Allan Bauldry finished off his career working at the Region of Peel until his retirement in 1990 serving as Director of Engineering Services. In 1974 Bauldry entered a contest to design the crest for the newly formed City of Mississauga. He won and received a $1,000.00 prize. The crest was used as the City of Mississauga logo from 1974 until 1986. |
