History |
This is a photograph of the Cherry Hill House which is a clapboard style historic house located in Mississauga, Ontario. It was built in ca. 1822 and is associated with Joseph and Jane Silverthorn, one of Toronto Township's earliest and most prominent families. In 1950s, Cherry Hill was sold to S. B. McLaughlin and Associates, who moved the house to its present location in 1974. Cherry Hill was restored and re-opened as a restaurant by Triomphe Inc. in 1979 (though it has gone through many owners since then). Today, Cherry Hill is designated under the terms of the Ontario Heritage Act. |
