History |
According to Historian Matthew Wilkinson, Greenfields Centre was the preconstruction name for the Square One Shopping Centre project taken on by Bruce McLaughlin of S.B. McLaughlin Associates. He had several holdings of land in the area of what would become Mississauga City Centre. His vision for a 'downtown' area of Mississauga centred on his plan for Square One Shopping Centre which opened up in 1973. References: McLaughlin's New Deal.
