Edwin McKay Halliday (1925-1999) served as the second City Manager for the City of Mississauga from 1977 until his retirement in 1985. Halliday worked a 30-year career with the municipality starting with the Toronto Township as a parks foreman to help plan, oversee and direct operations of the township's system. During his time, which included the evolution of the municipality from Town to City, Halliday rose the ranks and served in the roles of supervisor, superintendent, director and eventually Commissioner of Parks and Recreation. In 1977 he was chosen for the job of City Manager. |
