A large black and white photograph mounted on foam board of local politicians from the Town of Mississauga having a picnic at a park in Erindale. Seated on the far left in the foreground is Mary Fix, who is sitting next to Bob Harrison. Seated on the same side of the bench are Mayor Robert Speck and Councillor Frank McKechnie. On the other side of the table are Ed Halliday, Jerry Love and Chic Murray. |
History |
The picnic occurred outside on the property of Erindale Community Hall, located at 1620 Dundas Street West. Mary Fix, Frank McKechnie, Bob Speck, Bob Harrison and Chic Murray served on council for the Toronto Township in 1959. Jerry Love and Ed Halliday worked for the Township's Recreation and Parks department. The Toronto Township Recreation Department was formed in 1947 and offered organized sports and recreation to residents across the township. |
