Larry Clayton Taylor (1948-2011) was a former municipal and regional councillor serving ward 4 residents of Mississauga between 1977 and 1986. Taylor was employed at Bell Canada and served on the executive for the Peel Association for Good Government (PAGG) and Save our Trees And Streams (SOTAS). He first ran for office for ward 7 but was defeated by veteran councillor Ron Searle. Taylor ran again and served for a total of five terms. During his years on council he served as chair for of the city's Condominium Development Committee, the Transit Committee and the Peel Social Services Committee. He was remembered for his strong leadership roles during the Mississauga Train Derailment, the first multicultural festival in Mississauga and the Mississauga Valley Community Centre. After his municipal career he became the owner of Mississauga Residential Lifestyles Realty Inc. He continued to be a long time support of the NDP and worked and volunteered for a large number of municipal, provincial and federal campaigns.
