Transit and storage facility was designed by Moffet & Duncan Architects and constructed by Ellis-Don Limited in 1976. In June 1977 an office complex was constructed. By 1977 there were 22 transit routes servicing the City of Mississauga. Public transit began in the Town of Mississauga back in 1969 and was first operated by Charterways Bus Company Ltd and Georgetown Transportation Company; it started as a six-month trial to gauge interest from residents and transit users. The Town of Mississauga was growing and so was the need for an updated transit system, with support from the Province of Ontario and members of council, the Town of Mississauga’s new municipal transit system was introduced on November 1st, 1973. A couple of months later, the new City of Mississauga was incorporated in January of 1974. References: Kathleen Hicks 'Cooksville: Country to City (Also Includes Britannia).
