Frederick William Jarvis (1818-1997) was the son of Frederick Starr Jarvis and Susanna Isabella Merigold. Born on the Jarvis homestead on the Lakeshore Road in Toronto Township, his career brought him to York (Toronto) serving as Deputy-Sheriff of the Home District and later Sheriff of York County. Frederick married Caroline Skynner, daughter of Captain John Skynner of the Anchorage. The couple moved to York (Toronto) and lived at their home, Woodlawn, which was located on the southeast corner of Wellesley and Jarvis. The couple entertained many guests and friends at their home including various members of the Harris and Skynner families. |
