History |
Note written by an unknown author and was part of a series of papers detailing the life of various members of the Jarvis family. The Jarvis family was a United Empire Loyalist family who came to Canada during the late 1700s. Colonel Stephen Jarvis was in command of a troop of horses during the American rebellion and would settle in New Brunswick. After several years the Jarvis family headed west and settled in Upper Canada along the Lakeshore of Toronto Township. Frederick W. Jarvis married Caroline Skynner of the Anchorage. The Anchorage serves as administrative, exhibition and programming space for the Museums of Mississauga. References: Called suddenly away. Sheriff Jarvis Expires en route from his office.
