An oil painting of Brownie, the family cat, painted by Caroline Farncomb. The tabby cat has grey hair with black stripes and is painted on a rust-coloured background. "CF" is marked in the proper bottom left corner. The painting is set in a wood frame with some nails hammered into the back. The frame is very ornate with a leafy pattern and has been painted to resemble gold gilding. |

History |
Brownie was the Harris' family cat. He was unique in that he would sit up like a dog for treats. There are a few photographs of Brownie in the collection during the early 1900s. This portrait of Brownie was painted by a family friend and artist, Caroline Farncomb (1859-1951). |
