Description |
A homemade chef's costume consisting of a jacket, pants, apron and hat made out of linen twill. Jacket has a mandarin collar and long sleeves. Two button holes on the jacket are in the front and are hand-sewn; buttons are held in place with tiny brass safety pins. Matching pants has a draw-string waist and placket opening. The hem is finished with matching stitching while other seams are found unfinished. Apron has ties with bias tape and hems that are also unfinished. It has a laundry mark that reads 'Sayers'. The hat has a flat top and attached headband. Its shape is defined by a cardboard circle inside the flat part. |

History |
Halloween costume was made by Annie Sayers for her daughter Dora Sayers. She wore it when she was around 8 years old. It was later used by her sister Barbara sometime during the late 1920s |
