Description |
A bobblehead doll in the form of Mayor Hazel McCallion. The head of the doll is connected to the body with a spring which allows movement. The head is out of proportion to the body, which is small in comparison. The head is a likeness of the Mayor with white wavy hair and a smile. The body is clothed in a yellow suit with a red blouse. Around her neck is the Mayor's chain of office. She holds a book with the City of Mississauga symbol on it in her left hand. The base of the figurine is white with large red capital letters reading 'MAYOR HAZEL MCCALLION'. Above this title is a band of silver with blue letters that reads: 25th 1978 ANNIVERSARY 2003. |

History |
Bobblehead figure was created to commemorate Hazel McCallion's 25 years serving as Mayor of Mississauga. The yellow suit on the doll is a representation of an outfit she owns and has been seen wearing at various city functions and events across her career. Various bobblehead dolls of Mayor McCallion have been created throughout the years. A number were created and given out during the annual Mayor's Gala that was hosted to help raise funds for arts and culture organizations in Mississauga. |
