History |
Barbara Roe Hicklin (1918- 2010) was a Canadian artist who was the first woman president of the Alberta Society of Artists. Barbara Larson recalls that Barbara was the daughter of Winifred Farncomb Roe, a great friend of her mother, Annie Harris Sayers and her aunt, Naomi Harris. Barbara's aunt was artist, Caroline Farncomb. Winifred and her daughters visited Benares many times and it was during these visits that Barbara drew or painted Benares. Barbara's sister, Marion (1920-2010), was a close friend of Barbara Larson and was one of her bridesmaids at her 1939 wedding to Melville Gooderham. |
