Description |
A rectangular sewing basket table or sewing stand made out of wicker. Has a tray at the bottom. The basket top has a carrying handle and a little round piece to hold the lid and basket together. The lid is attached to the hinges. The underside of the lid has fabric in a cotton print of the blue, black and white design. The fabric insert also has some pockets to store some needlework supplies. The legs angle outwards. |

History |
Believed to be a type of sewing stand where the user can easily move the basket/table to a room to work on sewing and needlework. This was a common household accessory found in many Canadian homes and was advertised for sale by both Simpsons and Eatons during the first half of the 20th century.
