History |
This spinning wheel is a reproduction of a Hebridean-type spinning wheel made in Scotland. The wheel was donated by Ted Carson. Carson, a 'master weaver' was the owner and operator of Handcraft wools which was once located at 5219 Ninth Line. Carson left his job at Ontario Hydro to focus his time on his love of weaving. He raised sheep outside his store and travelled all over Ontario teaching and leading workshops.
