History |
Barbara Larson, Arthur and Mary Harris's granddaughter, recalls that this settee was used by her grandparents to put their clothes on as they got dressed by the stovepipe on cold winter mornings. Mary Harris sat on this settee for a portrait painted in 1906 by Caroline Farncomb. When the house was restored, it was found in the barn with green-covered upholstery that was in bad condition so it was recovered to its former look. |
