History |
Margaret Marland (b. 1934) was a former City of Mississauga and Region of Peel councillor. She worked as an accountant and dental assistant before becoming a school trustee for the Peel Board of Education from 1974 to 1978. Between 1978 and 1985 she served as municipal councillor and represented Ward 2 in Mississauga. She was later elected to the Ontario legislature and was part of the Progressive Conservative party for Mississauga South. "Marland was the first-ever female MPP from Mississauga and eventually did become its first female Cabinet minister."
