A sepia-toned cabinet card features three young girls (Annie & Naomi Harris and Nora Hector). Naomi and Annie Harris are wearing matching dresses with high collars and lighter neck yoke and sleeves. Annie is wearing a watch pin. Nora (centre) is wearing a high-collared dark dress. The photo is mounted on a beige matte board with "J.E. Perkins, Toronto, ONT" debossed in the lower corner. Written above each girl is her name in black ink. On the back is black ink is written "to dear Cousin Emma & Fred with Annie and Naomi Harris' lover, Jan. 7th/ 95". History |
Naomi (1883-1968) and Annie Harris (1882-1986) were the daughters of Mary Magrath and Arthur Harris. Nora Hector (1884-1962) was the daughter of Mary's oldest sister, Marian Magrath Hector. Nora married Evelyn St. George Banwell on Dec. 9, 1905, shortly after he had robbed a bank. The chase, capture and subsequent trial of the pair was covered extensively in the Toronto Star.
