History |
Harold Kennedy (c.1927 - 2009) served as Councillor for Ward 1 in Mississauga. He served in office for 26 years before retiring in 1994. He was born and raised in Mississauga. The Kennedy family was highly involved in local and provincial politics, including his Uncle Tom, after whom Tomken Road was named, and who served as Ontario's Premier during the 1940s. Upon his retirement, Harold Kennedy received much praise from his fellow councillors, including Mayor Hazel McCallion. His many achievements included a contribution to the development of Lakefront Promenade Park. Ref: 'The Toronto Star', December 8, 1994 page MS2. |
