To the proper right is a group of five men, all in civilian clothes, with arms around each other. A young boy is holding a flag in the centre. |
History |
Postcard depicts an image of a gathering of volunteers and well-wishers during a send-off of men who were on their way to the front lines of World War 1. The postcard originally belonged to members of the Graydon family of Streetsville. The donor's wife, Jean Burns, was the daughter of Austin Graydon and granddaughter of John Graydon, a prominent builder in Streetsville. |
