History |
L.J. Hoopers Pharmacy known to date as Hooper's Pharmacy and Vitamin Shop was first established in 1924 in Port Credit, Mississauga, Ontario. The Pharmacy offers a selection of brand-named supplements, homeopathic medications and doctor-prescribed prescriptions for customers. In 1986 the company joined the PCCA (Professional Compounding Centers of America). Hooper's Pharmacy began in 1924 and was owned and operated by pharmacist Larry J. Hooper (1901-1977). The first pharmacy operated out of a small store, but in 1939 a new building was constructed for a new and bigger pharmacy at 100 Lakeshore Road East. After retirement in 1964 Larry sold his business and today it is owned by Richard Diniz. In 1986, Hooper's joined the Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA) and became the first Canadian Compounding Pharmacy member and established a compounding pharmacy, which is now commonplace in all of their locations. Hooper's Pharmacy in Port Credit is now located at 88 Lakeshore Road East; the former building at 100 Lakeshore Road East is now home to a fashion accessory store.
