History |
The presentation folder originally carried promotional material created by Markborough Properties Limited who were involved in the development of Meadowvale in the north-west area of Mississauga. Meadowvale Town Centre was located in the subdivision of Meadowvale West that encompassed the area south of Highway 401 on both sides of Winston Churchill Boulevard. It contains a mixture of detached and semi-detached homes with townhouses and high-rise apartment buildings. The area was to feature a man-made lake that would become Lake Aquitaine. The owner of Markborough Properties, Peter Langer, was known as the "man who built Meadowvale". He believed in mixed housing which is reflected in the layout of Meadowvale. The donor, Karl Frank, was the landscape architect for this development. References: Meadowvale new Town proposal unveiled to Streetsville planners.
