A black and white journal entitled, "The Rocket" which was part of the Journal of Canadian Arsenals Limited series. The title is written in black ink with lines in the back The centre has a black and white photograph of snow on the ground,trees and bushes. The bottom has the volume number which is Vol. VII, No. 1 and the publishing date is January 1957. "The Rocket" was a series of journals of the Canadian Arsenals Limited. The content contains information about what is new in the organization, personal, achievements, etc. In 1946 all the existing small arms and munitions factories under the Department of Munitions and Supply were amalgamated to form Canadian Arsenals Limited, a crown corporation now reporting to the Department of Supply and Services. Canadian Arsenals Ltd. had one facility in the Lakeview area of Mississauga previously Small Arms Ltd. It produced arms for the Canadian Army including components for the C1 submachine gun, the Browning HP pistol, the Canadian Army standard FN rifle and Bren DMG’s (Mississauga News, 1970). Canadian Arsenals Ltd. closed its doors in 1976. |
