History |
Beginning in the late 1980s/early 1990s momentum was growing to increase support to have the summer Olympics held in Toronto for 1996. Mississauga resident and retired athlete Paul Henderson, was in charge of the committee to head up the bid with the Toronto's Olympic Organizing Committee (TOOC). This poster was given to Mayor McCallion who along with the City of Mississauga supported the bid for the Olympics in Toronto. Mississauga would have been a participating partner in the games and host several of its events within its borders. |
