History |
The City Centre Transit Terminal (CCTT), located at 200 Rathburn Road West, officially opened on November 6, 1997. The terminal, located at the north parking lot of Square One Shopping Centre serves as a transit hub and bus station for MiWay. Designed by Moffet & Duncan Architects Inc and Fleisher-Rideout Partnerships, the project received the Award of Merit for Urban Infrastructure from the 1998 Mississauga Urban Design Awards. Mississauga Transit, now known as MiWay, had used the Square One Shopping Centre as a transit terminal sometime after the mall opened in 1973. This old terminal consisted of a loop found on the southeast side of the mall with a small number of bus shelters. In 2020 the City Centre Transit Terminal received renovations to provide enhanced accessibility and service for transit customers. Nine hundred buses pass through the terminal daily, connecting riders to places in Mississauga and across the Greater Toronto Area.
